Entry 17

She had the audacity to come to the tower tonight. That dead thing in the Mage tower. She has no right to hold the Handhour name. She was probably there too, trying to bring down Gilneas with the rest of her defiled people. I'll not see my homeland turned into some poisoned wonderland for the dead to frolic in.

I made her understand she was not welcome.

She knows her place.

And its not as my sister.

Entry 16

I have been so busy of late, so much moving, journal. I misplaced you. Winter's veil passed again--another year in Dalaran.

Or maybe not. I've found my help is needed elsewhere.

Deathwing has risen. And the world suffers for it. Just when we'd have some peace from the success in Northrend too. I've come to like Stormwind, and how it hurt to see so much of it destroyed.

We will not fall so easily, still.

Gilneas. The walls crumbled in the wake of Deathwing's destruction. I was not sure what would happen, but...I was so happy when I heard our brother was alive. Alive! Cursed, but we could work through things. How I missed him.

But he died, journal, before I could even catch a glimpse of him. They sent me his things and

Why is this happening?

They've ruined everything. The forsaken are to blame.

They will pay for what they've done, gods help me.

Entry 15

It is so early in the year. I had thought she would live through to at least tell me more of us. She wishes for me to find Quintun. Restore our family name in Gilneas. Right.

I must make preparations for her funeral. There's too much for me to do.

Anna wishes to help, but it is not her place. It is my responsibility.

I cannot write what I feel approapriately, or I will be brought to tears. The Violet guard must receive a competent warden, not a babbling baby.

My heart hurts still, when I think too much.

Entry 14

Madness! It is all madness!

But I've seen the truth in the madness. The ring aligned her with our family blood. She is really a Handhour! A warlock. An undead, warlock. If my mother had any sense right now, she would cut connections from this thing as soon as possible.

Oh, but no. Of course not. I have to have the aging, dying mother that wishes to hold the cold, dead hands of a "daughter" and cry out dying wishes to her. I will not have it!

I'll have to find a way to busy this "Annaliese", if she absolutely must be here. Perhaps the Forsaken will lose interest then.

Entry 13

Mother's not getting better. I wonder if she's just giving up now. She's so much stronger than this! It drives me mad. I know it is childish, and Mother would berate me for saying so, but I do not wish for her to leave. She is all I have. What will I do?

On top of all this, she's insisted on seeing this Forsaken woman. Or thing. She's gone completely mad, I know it, but I will have to oblige her. It means so much to her apparently. I half wonder if this is some sort of conspiriacy to spy on the Council, by getting my mother to speak of it's plans. I pity the Forsaken and my mother, if I'm brought to action. I know it will break her heart.

The man of cloth, Niklos, is strange. I don't know what it is about him, but he seems to know more than he lets on. What could a clergyman of the Cathedral be hiding?

Entry 12

Winter's Veil. It's my favorite holiday, really. It was, I mean. As a child, I always looked forward to the eve before, where our family's would gather and feast. The dinner hall was warm, and the people forgot about their troubles for that one night. Mother and Father were always at their best too with one another. Maybe I didn't notice then, but they were so distant from each other. I sometimes wonder now if Mother hoped he would stay in Gilneas those years ago. She certainly seems to miss him now.

I wish I could help her to hang tinsel on the trees outside in Dalaran, but she is confined more and more to the bed now. And she keeps speaking of Quintun, telling me I should bring him home for the holidays. She just knows he's out there chasing that Elizebeth Gillens with mistletoe.

It will be a quiet holiday.

Entry 11

Of all the things horrible and nasty that could happen to me, it all seemed to fall down at once today. Mother is absolutely seething. She's keeping me from the city of Stormwind for a few weeks, she says. I was apparently too distracted from my duties when I was there. But I know its because of the ring. I can't believe I lost it!

Why does this always happen to me? I had the absolute intention of delivering the food out to the Guards. It wasn't my fault that things happened as they did! Then there is the ring. I might as well have left my finger with it as well because I've never taken it off before. Ever. I'm so stupid. At least I know who has it.

Mister Niklos.

Writing it down to remember. Will have to get it back.
